Moped engines 2

Okay..in this entry..im going to tell you a little bit more about japanese moped engines.this is the second part.you may read the first part first.i want to aplogize for mh english because i am just a normal person.i dont really use english in my everyday life.and im not a mechanic.im just a normal guy who lile mopeds so much..

Okay, lets continue..i have talked a little bit about the cylinder block "department".Now im going to go to the last "department" which is the crankase department.in these last department.it has many moving parts such as cranshaft, gearbox, clutch and magneto.the up and down movement fr the piston is transferred to the cranskshaft via a connecting rodJ

This movement is transferred to a cranskshaftthat will rotate the magneto,a component to generates electricity for the headlamp, signal lamp and spark to the plugs via a set of coil. The cranshaft movement also will be transferred to the clutches before they are sent to the gearbox.mostly 3 or 4 speed gearbox depending on the engines. Most of the engines for newer japanese mopeds have a 4 speed gearbox.the old model such as Honda Supercub 70cc has a 3 speed transimmission. And it will makes the wheel moves via chain. All japanase mopeds are working via chain.i do not encounter any japanese bikes that are using axle.if i am wrong, please tell me.And these are some pictures of the Honda super cub 90cc 3 speed engine.

Moped:Introductory

Assalamualaikum and a very good morning to all of you.My name is Jack and i am a 25 yo guy.Im from Malaysia. The existence of this blog is just to share and solely just to show my love towards moped bikes. As all of you know,Moped is a small bike with mostly an air cooled wngine. And less than 150cc.it can be two stokr or four stroke engine. These bikes are commonly popular in asian countries such as thailand, malaysia, indonesia and vietnam. Most of the mopeds here come from Japan. The japanese makers such as honda, suzuki, kawasaki and yamaha dominate the market in asia.I still remember the day my mother sends me to school by using a Honda super cub 90cc.It is a common sight people riding mopeds to works,to school or to finish their job in everyday life.

IN asean country, mopeds were widely used because of its ability and advantages. There are some advantanges and abilities that are rarely seen in other mode of transport:
-fuel efficiency
-easy to ride
-able to carry weights easily
-strength(its really strong,in a sense of durability,i can guarantee)
-cheap to maintain
-able to go as fast as 180kmh or more!!!
-the price of the mopeds are cheap

Ok,that being said,im going to give you some of the examples of the mopeds that are popular in malaysia.

Moped bike modifications

Hello guys, today i am going to share a brief history about moped modifications.I will emphasizes on the Honda super cub.As we know, honda super cub is the moped that have a huge sales around the world. from wikipedia:The Honda Super Cub is a Honda underbone motorcycle with a four stroke single cylinder engine ranging in displacementfrom 49 to 109 cc (3.0 to 6.7 cu in).
In continuous manufacture since 1958 with production surpassing 60 million in 2008,] the Super Cub is the most producedmotor vehicle* in history. Variants include the C100, C50, C70, C90, C100EX and C70 Passport. The pushrod overhead valve (OHV) air-cooled four stroke single cylinder engine had a 40-by-39-millimetre (1.6 in × 1.5 in) bore × stroke, displacing 49 cubic centimetres (3.0 cu in), and could produce 3.4 kilowatts (4.5 hp) at 9,500 rpm, for maximum speed of 69 km/h (43 mph), under favorable conditions. The low compression ratio meant the engine could consume inexpensive and commonly available low octane fuel, as well as minimizing the effort to kick start the engine, making the extra weight and expense of an electric starter an unnecessary creature comfort.[22] Though some of the many Super Cub variations came with both kick and electric start, the majority sold well without it. Even the latest 2011 model year Japanese domestic market (JDM) Super Cub 50 and Super Cub 110 versions, with modern technology and conveniences like fuel injection and a fuel gauge, were not offered with an electric start option.[23][24]
The sequential shifting three speed gearbox was manually shifted, but clutchless, without the need for a clutch lever control, using instead a centrifugal clutch along with a plate clutch slaved to the footchange lever to engage and disengage the gearbox from the engine. While not intuitive to learn, once the rider got used to it, the semi-automatic transmission, "took the terror out of motorcycling" for novice riders.[22] Unlike many scooter CVTs, the centrifugal clutch made it possible to push start the Super Cub, a useful advantage if the need arose.[12]

Possibilties to mod the honda super cub:

There are many ways to upgrade this small engine,in asian countries, such as Malaysia for example, there are lots of modified cubs. They modified it just for fun and the bikes will run well if you have the perfect way to tune the bikes. For the beginner, you can tune the bikes with many ways.I will show you step by step on how to modified this small super cub in order to gain maximum power from it.I will divide the modifications in several ways such as standard modified,(no need to change any parts or just need to change little parts),'medium modified'(things starts to becomes serious) and extreme modified(heavily modified).ANY DAMAGES that you might experiencing is not my fault.I will only give you suggestions(suggestions from my experience with this Honda super cub).If you want to follow them,YOU ARE TAKING YOUR OWN RISKS.(hey, experiences is the great teacher too!)I also will suggest you parts that you can buy,and i will try to give the websites that sells the parts.
